If I were going to be famous for something in the sewing blogosphere, it would probably be making quirky dresses from geeky bed sheets that I find at the thrift store. Here's a gallery in case you want to find one quickly!
these are great! I've just been teaching myself to sew and I've started a similar project for my daughters. One Cinderella bedsheet dress and one Batman and Robin bedsheet dress. I'm learning as I go :)
AMAZEBALLS! Just randomly landed on your page and am hooked. Love love LOVE these dresses. I just wish here in the UK the charity (thrift) shops were cooler - I've never found such awesome bedsheets outside of ebay. *sigh*
Your dresses are so cool!! I never thought of using bed sheets of cartoon and super heroes for making dresses. In my case I would make tunic tops ( a little less intimidating).
Your designs are great. I thought I was the only one in the universe who made clothes from old shirts. Glad I"m not alone. I'm partial to landscape sheets myself.
Thank you for taking the time to tell me your thoughts! I appreciate reading them and I try to reply to most, if not all, comments, especially when they are questions. I ask that you keep your comments polite, and if you're a spammer, don't bother because your comment will just be deleted! Also, if you're commenting on a post that's more than two weeks old, it will be moderated.

ReplyDeleteSo sweet!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! A geeky fabric MAKES a summer dress!
ReplyDeleteThese are spectacular! I think that this kind of fabric is too awesome to be wasted on sheets, especially the Spiderman print.
ReplyDeleteI do not wish to be rude, but I feel obliged to point out that you have mislabeled your Superman dress.
Thanks! I can't believe I didn't catch that typo!
